Culture And Vision

How Amaya Design Reviews Work and Records Decisions

Floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D studies are reviewed at different project stages. Comments are discussed and recorded before revised drawings are issued.

Project notes, markups, and revised drawings record what changed, why it changed, who is responsible, and what information is still required from the client, builder, or consultant.

Project questions, markups, and decisions are shared with the people responsible for the next step.

Designing for people first

Our Vision

Residential Plans Must Address Property Conditions and Household Routines

Drawings are checked against the property information, owner's room requirements, builder questions, and consultant documents available at that stage.

Plan options and 3D studies are used to compare room relationships, massing, openings, and roof geometry. When new information arrives, the affected plans, elevations, and details are reviewed.

Review comments identify the issue, the drawing affected, the person responsible for the response, and any outside information needed before the comment can be closed.

Culture In Practice

Three Practices Used During Project Reviews

Plan Review

Plan Review

Plans are reviewed before the drawing set advances.

  • The reviewer checks room adjacencies, levels, openings, roof geometry, and dimensions against the current brief.
  • Comments identify the affected plan, elevation, section, or detail instead of relying on a general instruction.
  • The drawing author resolves the markup or records the client, consultant, or site information still required.
Workload And Deadlines

Workload And Deadlines

Schedule changes are discussed before they affect a submission.

  • The project schedule identifies the next review or submission and the team members responsible for its drawings.
  • Conflicting deadlines are raised before the due date so work can be reassigned or the schedule can be revised.
  • Scope and responsibility changes are recorded with the affected deliverable and date.
Drawing Reviews

Drawing Reviews

Markups include the reason for a requested change.

  • A markup states what must change and why the current condition conflicts with the brief or another drawing.
  • The author checks related plans, elevations, sections, 3D views, and schedules before closing the comment.
  • Recurring coordination issues are added to project review checklists for later drawing stages.
