Project notes
Horizontal roof planes, wood soffits, stone, and lake-facing glazing.
At Chestermere Lake, the house is drawn in strong horizontal lines and layered roof planes. Deep charcoal finishes establish the profile, while wood soffits and natural stone add warmth and texture.
Glazing opens the main spaces toward the water and brings daylight deep into the interior. At the entrance, a double-height volume and long sightlines establish the connection to the lake as soon as someone steps inside.
The garage and approach are absorbed into the same architectural language. Mature trees, open sky, and the water complete the setting, giving the residence both privacy and a direct relationship to the lake.
